Espoo työväenopisto does some one-day baking classes - they are in English and are aimed at foreigners but I don't think they have anything particulary "Finnish" (like pulla) in September. Maybe Helsinki has something similar. Getting your daughter to give her a pulla cookery lesson will work just as well.
As for basket weaving, there is a willow centre in Vantaa not too far from the airport. It is in a very old coaching inn (in the middle of an industrial estate). I went there for a basket-weaving session. it was good fun, we had a snack and looked around, friendly people. The lesson was in Finnish but even I could cope with it, not difficult. I don't think basket weaving is a specifically Finnish handicraft though and a lot of the goods they sell in their shop are imported. You could always go for a visit even if you don't take a lesson. http://www.koiramaenpajutalli.fi/koiram ... talli.html
The kierratyskeskus also run handicraft workshops http://www.kierratyskeskus.fi/in_englis ... vice_napra
Finnish cooking class / basket weaving class
Re: Finnish cooking class / basket weaving class
Having briefly worked at (for) Finnair I seem to remember that visits to the Marimekko factory shop in
Hertonniemi were popular. Shame it's too early to go ice fishing but you could try Nordic walking through the city centre and then go and eat salmon soup. Or go mushrooming in Nuuksio.

Well, not a class... but would she be interested in buying päre- or tuohikori, that's traditional. They can be found for instance from here (scroll a bit down on the page).
Check also "kotiseutumuseo" and similar museums in Helsinki and nearby cities, like Glims in Espoo. They usually have lots of different workshops and demonstrations of old crafts.
