Salary while in the army (Conscript)

Hi,

I got the Finnish Citizenship recently. Since I am 28 years old, I got the call up. This means I have to join the army for about 5 months. During my stay in the army, will I get my regular salary from my company ? (apart from the daily allowances).

Any idea ?

Nope, you get the daily allowance, and something from KELA towards your flat. Your employer can't make you redundant during it for the reason you are in service. Though the next day you come back they can.

One can also bet money from Kela if there's family to support.

The employer still needs a legal reason to make you redundant when conscription ends (it is not a reason by itself).
