Hello All,
I have some questions about winter tyres and rims.
1. Are there any websites that compare the price of the same winter tyres ?
2. Are there any online shops that sell winter tyres and rims within Finland? I have met one website where the headquarter is in Pori several months ago, but I cannot remember the name....
3. Any recommendation for 185/65 15'' tyres ?
Thank you in advance,
Heidi

Re: Winter tyre price comparison
I've always found I get the best prices from smaller, local garages, rather than the larger chains. Drop an email to some, asking for a quote.

Re: Winter tyre price comparison
-Don't try to save money on winter tyres. The expensive ones are really good --> meaning safety.
-Check out prices from different places as some dealers are focused on some brand and have best deals on them.
-185/65R15 is still common size, dealers should have them on stock and with different brands, meaning good prices.
-If you don't want to spend too much money, still never take the cheapest ones, at least go somewhere in the middle in the price range.
-If you aren't familiar to drive in Nordic winter conditions, take studded tyres.
Rengasmaailma (focused brand: Continental), Rengasmarket (focused brand: Gislaved), Euromaster, Vianor (focused brand: Nokian). There is some options. They are big chains, meaning the volumes they handle, there can be good prices.

Re: Winter tyre price comparison
In theory, it should. In practice (and speaking only for personal and peer group experience in central Finland), they do not pass this bulk-buy discount on to customers. Instead they spend heavily on advertising and the local back-street garages have always been cheaper. I have no idea how things work in the gleaming metropolis of HKI.Smedju wrote: They are big chains, meaning the volumes they handle, there can be good prices.

You do realize these two things contradict one another?-Don't try to save money on winter tyres. The expensive ones are really good --> meaning safety.

(Yeah, I know you mean not to skimp on the brand.)

Not that it helps the OP, but this is not the best time of year to get a bargain on winter tyres.
We bought a set of Nokia HKPL8s in July from our Ford main dealer, list price was €195 per corner ... I was cheeky and asked for a discount, we paid €500 for four.
You'll get a great deal on summer tyres about now though.
