E-cigarette rules

Post by Katinkha » Mon Nov 10, 2014 9:10 pm

Hey all,

I will be moving to Finland before the end of the year and will spend a few days in Helsinki next week. I have read that e-cigarette liquids containing nicotine are not allowed and, since I use one, I am wondering:
- Does this still apply?
- Would I be in trouble for bringing my own liquid containing nicotine? Are there any restrictions to the amount of nicoting allowed per capsule?

I definitely do not want to be in trouble :)

Thank you!

Noemi

E-cigarette liquids that contain nicotine are not sold here, they are classed as medicine like product. You are allowed to bring liquids for your own use. You can get more of that stuff online, if your supply runs out.

If you opt to bring in nicotine-containing liquids, make sure you have a doctor's prescription. At least that's what Tulli says http://www.tulli.fi/en/releases/lehdist ... index.html
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

Prescription needed only if single dose is over 10mg or over 0,42g in single cartridge: http://www.tulli.fi/fi/tiedotteet/lehdi ... index.html

Oho, so that means a lot of the mild ones you can get from Estonia are okay to bring here. I had no idea.

Mine are 16mg :/. I can definitely find a solution before moing over but not before tomorrow's quick trip, I think. If a presciption is needed, does it have to be from a Finnish doctor? cause right now I can only find French ones :)

No. Although I would guess it wouldn't hurt you to start ween yourself from the nicotine.

Moving to Finland will help with that in general, saunas will make it easier than here :)

Don't worry about ordering liquid of any strength online. It hasn't been an issue for about 4 years.

Most people I know in Finland / Germany / Sweden get E Ciggs on line from UK without any hassle or higher costs.

Try E Cigwizaed (www.ecigwizard.com) ...........Stay away from "Cheap" parts and solutions.

I gave up smoking over a year ago, and have the same paranoia when traveling in Europe. Always worried customs may confiscate nicotine solution. Not happened so far. In Germany in a hotel I was asked to go to the smoking room when they saw I had a ecig in my hand. I asked why would I go to a smokey known health problem confined space, and they said "Our government HAVE NOT Approved Eciggs". I pointed out I was not using the ecigg, just holding it. "Then please put it away, you are not permitted to have it in public, until our government approve it"

Good thing is most of Europe takes no notice..............
I do not need to know you will attend my Funeral. I would rather you call just to say Hi !!

I live in France and we are actually only allowed to smoke it outdoors or in designated smoking areas here :P
I have my ecig with me, just checking what the rules about the liquid are, but I guess I can find a Finnish doctor to prescribe it for me (provided they can do it to help people quit smokign real cigarettes)
