Pre-paid card for online shopping?
Pre-paid card for online shopping?
I wanted to buy some things worth 50 euros all together online but since I am not a regular user of online shopping I believe it will be far easier to just use this card but the problem I have is I don't know which shops offer these cards or if I have to get it from the bank or something as all the information seems to be written in Finnish. Does anyone have any experience or know anything about this?
Thank you in advance.

If you have a bank account with a Visa Electron connected to it, you can simply activate the online payment option and use your card for that. You can also use PayPal and load it up with money from your bank account.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

Thanks for your response. I am with Nordea and I have a bank card that lets me withdraw money from cash machines or pay in shops and it does say "Visa Electron" on it but at the same time when I go on the Nordea website they ask that I log in to "netbank" to order an online shopping card that costs 2 euros a month or something. Do you know about this or...?adnan wrote:If you have a bank account with a Visa Electron connected to it, you can simply activate the online payment option and use your card for that. I don't know about Nordea; I'm with Aktia.
Bu still, if you the website from where you're buying your stuff supports PayPal, you don't need the card.

If you want a virtual MasterCard then Elisa Wallet can be used for that:

Seems to be lacking English translations though.

This works almost everywhere. As usual Finland will bring one out years later.

Since you have a visa electron card, you can activate the online payment option on nordea's website like adnan suggested, or call them and tell them to activate it to enable you shop online. after activation, simply go to the site you want to do your purchasing. select paypal as your payment method.it will ask you for your card number, the card number is on the front part of your visa electron card, where your name is written, and the expiry date of your card.it will also ask you for a three digit code, which can be found at the back of your card.it is simple, hope this helps you.

PayPal is a different payment method. Don't mix it with normal card payment. All your wrote is right except that you don't select PayPal as your payment method instead you select visa (debit/credit) option.amuda wrote:Since you have a visa electron card, you can activate the online payment option on nordea's website like adnan suggested, or call them and tell them to activate it to enable you shop online. after activation, simply go to the site you want to do your purchasing. select paypal as your payment method.it will ask you for your card number, the card number is on the front part of your visa electron card, where your name is written, and the expiry date of your card.it will also ask you for a three digit code, which can be found at the back of your card.it is simple, hope this helps you.
Also PayPal option is not available in many cases.

Been using it for months now, it's great, got it hooked up to my app store, google play and xbox live so the kids can buy what they want without me worrying about them rinsing my credit card, just stick 10-20€ on it a time. I wanted to get a Finnish one but there aren't any.

I've been using Skrill (Moneybookers) since 2008. I've had only one problem in the whole 7 years; I moved to a different country and started sending much more money through it, which they found suspicious and subsequently blocked my account. I got my account back after some verification. Other than that, it's been a great experience, especially with their MasterCard.irnbru wrote:Been using it for months now, it's great, got it hooked up to my app store, google play and xbox live so the kids can buy what they want without me worrying about them rinsing my credit card, just stick 10-20€ on it a time. I'm very surprised by those bad review on TrustPilot. Very strange.
