Q: Bus to Kirkkonummi

Can an 18-yr old student with a paid-up matkakortti travel to Kirkkonummi (U-line bus 190K) from Kamppi with the regular regional (Espoo/HEL) travel card?

I can't figure out if age restrictions apply or not:

If not, is it possible to buy the ticket from the driver?


...and what about the train? Is the regional travel card valid? (I assume not).

(My son is about to encounter the big wide world beyond Keha III - all this for a driving lesson )

Give him some extra euro's (5-10) so he can buy the extra ticket if neccesary (also back:-) Till now you can still pay in cash.

In the end he took the train, got there late (train was late) and no one would open the door for him so he came home.

He still has one more theory lesson and it is madness trying to fit these in around school-work, sports etc. His driving school is not the most flexible... they virtually shut down during the summer when he was doing nothing all day. Grrr.

To travel from Kamppi (Helsinki) to Kirkkonummi a 3-zone extended regional ticket is required.
(This applies for travel to Kerava and Sipoo as well).

If you have value loaded on your Travel Card, you can buy value tickets from card readers (inside bus or train).
- To pay for a 3-zone extended regional ticket using your Travel Card, press number 3 on the card reader.
- The paid 3-zone extended regional ticket is valid for transfers 100 minutes from purchase.
