Eye glasses in Tampere

Post by junaidmalik » Mon Dec 15, 2014 2:05 am

Hi,

Can anybody guide me to a cheap eye glasses store here in Tampere. I have the frames with me but my lenses broke. I went to Instrumentarium and they estimated around 200-300 euros for the replacement! Does anyone know of a more cheaper option?

Cheers

Getting new ones will most likely be cheaper than getting just new lenses.

I had mine done at a mail order place in the UK. I posted them the frames with old lenses, they took about 2 weeks and postage back to finland was 10e.
Lenses were 70euro (two lenses) although those were extra thin lenses, normal lenses are 50e.

Finnish prices are many times this as you have found out.

I was tempted just to get the frames + lenses from the same place and not post my existing frames to them (they had the same rayban frames I had already from an optician in finland). Cost would have been about 200e all in which is about half the finnish price and still less than getting new lenses in my existing frames would cost in Finland.

 Thanks for that link.

I need extra-thin varifocal lenses with a high UV protection but even at £170 I'm pretty sure it will be MUCH cheaper than Specsavers.

Can i get advise.
Finally my vision is becoming longer?
To focus i need to move the small object away from my face(maybe 50cm for focus).I cant find the identity code on small objects and moving them into the focus zone doesnt help
Its a big problem.ive been to the Finnish eye testers and i do better with magnification x1(i think).
I must smash atleast 3 or 4 sunglasses per year.im worried to pay money for glasses and then smash them.
My wife thinks contact lenses could be good.
What do you guys think.
