Anyone going to Nepal for the entrance tests this year?

Post by Summer90 » Fri Dec 26, 2014 2:14 am

Hello Everyone,

I'm a graphic design graduate from Pakistan, I did my degree from England, but now live in Pakistan. I intend to study an undergraduate course in English in Finland.
I applied last year and got accepted into 4 universities, but I didn't know that these universities only conduct entrance exams in Finland, hence I could not appear in any of the entrance exams cause they don't give you visa just to appear in some entrance exams.
Now I have found out that I can go to Nepal to appear in the entrance exams for selected universities.
I need help with some information.
First, I want to know are there any restrictions on people who have already done an undergrad degree but now want to study a second undergrad degree in a different subjec ?
Second, Is it really difficult to pass the entrance exam to get into the universities ?
And last, is there a finnish language course on the basis of which I could get a visa ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.
:)

You got invitation for entry test - didn't they told you when and where - I believe these things are very well explained in the invitation letter if not then the letter accompanies with that.
Entry test difficulty level - do you doubt yourself.
Learning Finnish is not a joke - you fulfill the requirements for a permit and you will get the permit. you fulfill requirements for visa you will get the visa. Visa is for visit. Residence permit is for residing on grounds the permit is issued for.
Do you know where is the nearest Finnish consulate located.
I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse. I'm gonna grant him all my old underwears that fit his head helping his nose stays in place

Hi Caster,

It was explained in the entrance test invite that it would be conducted in Finland only, but I didn't research properly and ended up applying for Universities that were only conducting entrance tests in Finland only. But this year I am consciously applying to Universities who will be conducting entrance exams in Nepal.

I asked about the entrance exam difficulty level because for the past 6 years I have done practical learning only. I was an art and design student for 6 years, hence, I am out of touch to my academic side. So I just wanted to know if the entrance tests are really difficult and tedious.

And I hope visa won't be an issue once I get admission in a university and fulfill the financial requirements.

I am mostly worried about the entrance tests.

The nearest Finnish consulate is in my city but they refuse to see me until I have cleared entrance exams and have admission in one of the Finnish Universities. The also avoid giving out any information regarding visas and students going to Finland.

I am mostly worried about the entrance tests.

I certainly can't comment exactly how difficult this can be but normally you have been offered some material in advance to prepare - as you mentioned your first degree is from the UK then you by rule does not require to provide IELTS report.

Also it depends on the university/university of applied sciences where you applied. Mean their own structure of assessing the students. Some may are easier then other but normally as I mentioned above they provide you with a material to prepare again depends what degree focus and the outcome apart a general interview.

I guess you're right.
Would you by any chance know if I will get a visa for studying a second undergraduate degree ? Because you can't get a visa to study a second undergrad degree in the UK unless you're a citizen.

Thank you

VISA is for visitor (max 90 days) - Residence Permit is for Residing (more than 90 days). Second or third does not count - what counts is you fulfill the requirement for RP. Merely having admission confirmation letter by University does not make anyone eligible for RP.

You require a visa only if you are travelling for entry test or just a visit sightseeing but if you get admitted you are required to apply for RP (for stay that covers your studies) that can be done electronically and once ready you will be required to collect the RP card from the nearest designated consulate.

There are other threads in this forum which may be helpful for you (just read them) that covers how much bank balance you need and the study pace (study credits) you require, once in the university to eliminate risk of your RP revocation.

Surely you will find lot more information by reading previous posts.
