Hola.
Greetings.
I´m new to this forum and I do not know what threads to check out.
I am based in Bolivia, but I was raised in Northern California. Yesterday I stumbled upon info for the International Business and Logistics Program at Helsinki Metropolia University. I just submitted my application, but I was wondering what the general opinion on Metropolia is.
Also: I will be looking for a room for rent and my gosh ...there are so many more factors to consider.
Chances are I will book my flight for April since the entrance exam shall be in April.
Advice?

Hello,
I also entered for the International Business and Logistics degree, at Metropolia and shall also be going to write in April, in terms of information I don't have much to help on that, never left Africa before, so it's going to be quite an experience going to Finland especially temperature wise. But here is one link I used to help book hotels for the duration of the entrance exam.
https://www.google.com/webhp?client=ms- ... droid-home
Then there was another website I used for identifying roughly some of the living costs:
www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/helsinki
That link is quite useful cause it allows you to adjust the prices to the currency you want, like the Kwatcha. Hope that helped,

Does not work --> takes to Google home page.Bradley Whipp wrote:Hello,

Better than nothing. However, not it's not directly applicable to students. The site wants prices for the most expensive areas in downtown Helsinki. The target audience is totally different from students. For example, students eat subsidized lunches at 2,60€ and would hardly ever rent the place the rent example is for.Bradley Whipp wrote: Then there was another website I used for identifying roughly some of the living costs:

Ok how about this link it might take you to the same page,
http://www.expatistan.com/cost-of-living/helsinki
Well it works for me that site cause I'm just using the hotel for a few days cause of the entrance exam then flying out of Finland again. So yeah partially applicable.
But overall best information provided has been from tummansininen, heard about the €6500, needed in your bank account, but I got a question if my brother and I were to be at different universities in Helsinki, could we still apply for the student apartment, for €300 per month and how long roughly is the waiting list.

http://hoas.fi/ might be of interest to you. Waiting will most likely be longer if you apply for friend apartment with your bro than if you both apply alone.Bradley Whipp wrote:but I got a question if my brother and I were to be at different universities in Helsinki, could we still apply for the student apartment, for €300 per month and how long roughly is the waiting list.
