I know English as my first language and know very little Finnish. However, I will be an exchange student to Finland next year so I will learn Finnish and go to Finnish high school for a year while there.
I want to apply to a Finnish university so that I can get a degree and possibly hopefully work there afterwords. However, I can not find any information about applying for a Finnish University if you speak Finnish but are a foreigner.
So I was wondering:
1. Do I have to find a way to take the matriculation exam to get in to a Finnish university?
2. What are any other extra things I have to worry about if I apply for a Finnish university? (other than taking care of personal costs and getting a visa)
Thanks a lot for any help you can provide!

Your country of origin?
To be in a Finnish university - for courses taught in finnish - you need finnish language skills min level 5 of 6 - if you want to attend university of applied sciences than it can even be 4 of 6.
The requirements are always available on university admission web pages - as you know little finnish - you will be able to read them - and if you want to understand then change the language to english

of course in general if you are applying for master program you need to have a bachelor degree already and so on - if you are thinking of doing finnish matriculation even then you require language skills.
If you are already confused understanding the same info in english as this is your first language - my advice - stop dreaming attending finnish courses at university level.
-learning finnish takes at least two years - exchange student - do not find this long free time.
-if english is your first language you should know that visa is for visitors (max 90 days) and it is illegal to engage yourself into activities other then tourism - for a stay more the 90 days and for reason other then business visit or pleasure visit one requires a residence permit.
You have to have certain amount in your bank account to be eligible for RP.
