English requirements at University of Helsinki

Post by sznycel » Sun Jan 25, 2015 9:12 pm

Could anyone help me with the language requirements at Helisnki University? I'm not sure if I meet them, but there's this part I don't understand
"With the European Baccalaureate the following ways of indicating academic language skills are acceptable:

European Baccalaureate with English as the LI language with an approved grade (a minimum grade of 4).
European Baccalaureate with English as the LII language with a minimum grade of 7."

What's LI and LII language?

LI and LII concern students who attended a European School and were awarded a European Baccalaureate. This is not just any school in Europe, there's a specific definition of what a European School is. There are currently 14 European Schools. So if you attended one of them and your main language (LI) was English and you received a grade 4, then you fulfill the requirements. However, if your second language (LII) in these European Schools was English, then you need a minimum of 7.

Given that you don't know what LI and LII mean, then I believe you haven't attended a European School, so the whole section doesn't really apply to you.
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.
