Parcel forwarding service *from* Finland

Hi everyone,

Apologies if this message is in the wrong forum, but this seemed to be the only one that more or less matched my question.

Basically, I'd like to know if there is a parcel forwarding service from Finland that can forward parcels to other European countries. This is very common in the US and the UK, but I can't seem to find this kind of service in Finland. This would allow me to purchase something in Finland (with a Finnish address) and have the parcel forwarded to me.

Some places wont send stuff abroad so there is some genuine need but more likely russian mafia wanting someone to get fire from police when massive fraud is found out. Net is full of "earn xx to redirect parcels"

You may not know this, but there are quite a few Scandinavian brands, especially Finnish ones, that sell stuff online (clothes, sweets, specialties, etc.) with shipping only to Scandinavia or even more restrictive. Short of living there or visiting often, it's hard to get those items. Mind you, this is not about buying illegal stuff or whatever. Why Finland specifically? Because it's so damn cheaper than Sweden and Norway and you can buy in Euros.

I could easily add a few more laughing 'smilies' but will try to elevate the joke - what in hades is so much cheaper iin Finland than Sweden that one could theoretically start to pay all kinds of third-party forwrding costs (I'll leave Norway alone they as are in their own class of prices)?

There should be no big deal or cost with paying or not paying in Euros. When you use your credit card, the rates you get are totally decent.

I see these services ae advertised for US and UK - sites look OK but sure seems like a scary process.

Hi, did you manage to find the mail forwarding company?
I badly need one now, the one that can provide me with the local Finnish address to send packages to and then post the packages to another country (within the EU).

I'm surprised by the lack of this service, it's a convenient way of shopping in other countries - eg. in the UK its parcelmonkey.co.uk, in Ireland it's parcelmotel.com and Germany has mailboxde.com (that allows you to purchase goods of up to 30 kg and these are then shipped to you at the rate of 1€ pet 1kg).

Can anyone recommend a company that provides this type of service in Finland - any advice please?

Are you really serious about 1 euro per kg? That sounds rather unbelievable considering the fact parcels must first be picked up - and then re-addressed and shipped internationally etc.

Finniish domestic rates approximate that charge when using Smartpost - but that is only the sending and the customer must do all the work themselves - and it's also the pricing of the transport company itself - no 'middle man.'

I don't see there is much demand for this kind of thing in finland. I can think of two reasons for this kind of service

a) products only sold in finland that people living elsewhere want to get hold of (especially ex-pat finns)
b) products sold around the world but in finland they are much cheaper than elsewhere

For (a) the ex-pats can get the packages sent to their family and then posted on/collect them when they next visit. There aren't a huge number of ex-pat finns though and there's not a huge amount of stuff they really grave (salmiakki comes to mind for example).
Against (b) the prices in finland are not that cheap to start with. there is not enough competition to drive down prices, so it's unlikely that prices are dramatically lower in finland than elsewhere. Things like Iittala and moomin products come to mind, but not much else, there's not a huge amount of products like this.

So market forces probably rule. low demand -> people don't offer a service. Plus anything that involves people (receiving the parcel, re-addressing it, putting several small boxes into a bigger box) mean high charges.
