Electricity Bill
I recently moved to Hyvinkää and made a contract with Fortum.
I'd like to ask how much is usually the average electric consumption for a 2-bedroom with one person living in the flat.
I do not have any appliance except for a laptop.
I received my first lasku for 60e and I think it is a little bit steep considering I do not have a washer and TV set and I cook very seldom and my lights are often most of the time turned off.
I only turn on my kitchen lights.
Any saving tips?

For what time period (how many months)?thinkprocessfocus wrote: I received my first lasku for 60e
What kind of lights you have?
I am not Fortum's customer but I'd guess you can see your electricity consumption online nowadays by an hour. So you should be able to see (for example) if you spend surprisingly lot during night time when not much anything else except fridge should be one.

Re: Electricity Bill
I have the spotlights but I rarely use them as I don't like too much light.
When I counted the hours of lights I use, I usually use in average 1h/day of lights in my living room, 2h/day in the kitchen.
I am also out 1/3 of the time at home so the prices comes as a shock to me.
For 3 months. I compared it to my friend's and she also has a 2-room apartment but with TV sets, PC, washer and she uses lights all night.
Her bill is only around 40euros.

How many kWh per month did the bill have? Did you compare this with your friend?thinkprocessfocus wrote: For 3 months. I compared it to my friend's and she also has a 2-room apartment but with TV sets, PC, washer and she uses lights all night.

Re: Electricity Bill
I have average 78kWh per month.
I see it now. The perusmaksu for both Fortum and Caruna is more than half of my actual energy consumption.

Re: Electricity Bill
To me it sounds more like your friend has a very low bill. Are you sure you're comparing apples to apples. Is her bill also the total bill for both actual electricity and transmission?
(I have family, the electricity consumption is bit more than twice as much, but the bill in euros only 50% higher. In Helsinki, so it is not directly comparable)
That is bit high, but the transmission (and the perusmaksu for that) you can do nothing about. How much does Fortum charge you (the fixed €/month and c/kwh (without transmission)?)The perusmaksu for both Fortum and Caruna is more than half of my actual energy consumption.

Re: Electricity Bill
I could easily do close to double that in a one bedroom. It seems like you should find a power production contract with no static fee per month. Something like this (I am not saying this is the best for your situation):thinkprocessfocus wrote:I have average 78kWh per month.

Personally, I'd skip 220 Energia.betelgeuse wrote:I could easily do close to double that in a one bedroom. It seems like you should find a power production contract with no static fee per month. Re: Electricity Bill
Yep. To get lower prices you often have to accept dealing with these smaller operators that have had issue like the above. It's an acceptable tradeoff for me since I inspect all invoices in detail any way.Ligence wrote:Personally, I'd skip 220 Energia.betelgeuse wrote: http://www.220energia.fi/tuotteet/maara ... -1-vuotta/

Re: Electricity Bill
Hello there,
I think you could to try Nordic Green Energy. I've been using them for while and they seem to be the cheapest around. We are a family of 4 on a 3 bed rooms flat and we use a lot of electricity. I pay about 20-25 € per month ( only electricity ) and around 65 € to Fortum for the electricity transfer ( sähkösiirtö) every 2 months.
