Hi!
I am 30-year old women considering having a baby one day. I would like to know how much money currently it takes to do some estimations. Mainly, unclear question is nanny/aupair. What do you need in order to hire au-pair? Separate room in the house? 252 euros after tax, so how much it is before tax and what are other expences? What are the working hours of kindergarten/schools so from which hour it is needed au-pair? What is relevant legislation about it? Any other things I haven't considered yet?
Thanks.
Anna

I agree with what "tummansininen" said, I tend to think that if you need to consider three digit sums (all in all, accounting for everything), likely it will be too much.

In Helsinki:What are the working hours of kindergarten/schools
http://www.hel.fi/www/Helsinki/en/day-c ... e/daycare/Daycare centres usually serve from 6:15 to 17:30 on weekdays. Centres providing evening, 24-hour and 7-day care are available for children in need for care outside regular service hours because of their parents' employment or studies.
The youngest kids seem to start the school at eight or nine, and there is optional afternoon activities (for a modest fee) arranged until four or five pm, for those in first or second grade.
This in Helsinki, other towns may have different rules, I think those in Helsinki are relatively "parent friendly".
Kids will get sick some time and there will be other unscheduled "events". Usually at least one in the list: mother, father, grandparents will need show flexibility with work, or then you need to reserve more for paid services.
