Ever had a doctor ask for photo ID?

Post by ilikepeanutbutter » Sun Apr 26, 2015 4:47 pm

Just wondering..my doc last month asked to see a photo ID of me ?? I've been here forever and never have had that happen before. Just wondering if that's happened to anyone else.

Yes. Sometimes twice, ie when I check in at reception and then again when I actually get into the doctor's "office". In some places you can actually check in using your ID card when you arrive (bar code). And then again when you go to the Apteeki to pick up your prescription.

It can be done by Kela-card without any photo.

I use to check in with the kela card with no photo. The same at the Apteekki.

That's weird the doctor asked for photo id. Maybe it's to do with the drugs you need? Or you are a foreigner? They could be dubious.

Yeah it was weird. I've lived here over a decade and never had that happen with a doctor before. I was getting just some routine stuff so it was a bit strange. I am foreign and look it :) lol.

I went in a couple months ago to book the appointment and the nurse was like IS THIS A REAL KELA CARD? I was kind of dumbfounded. A nurse recognized me and came over and fixed everything up for the appointment.

Just really strange stuff. Are there people using fake cards for medical in Vantaa??

If one can think of it, most likely someone has done/tried it before.
