Hello,
I'm thinking of studying nursing in Finland (the English program). I have read that at some places the student selection is based on the results of entrance exams only (not everywhere but some...). Those it mean that all I have to do is pass the exams and nobody cares about my previous school grades? My GPA (average scores) is not very high, around 80 (out of 100). Will it be enough to get invited to the entrance exam? I'm reading the degree programs and study guides of different universities and all it says at the entry requirements is things like "general eligibility to apply for higher education" with no specifics about any grades required. Can anyone help my understand what's going on there?
Thanks,
Aveline

The exam results are also graded and the places divided accordingly. It is not just pass and you're in. It also depends on the number of other applicants and their results. Those it mean that all I have to do is pass the exams and nobody cares about my previous school grades?
Re: Nursing studies in Finland
Obviously I'll have to do well at the exam, but I see now (at my post) why it looks like I dont know that and thanks for making it clear...
The thing is that I'm worried my average scores are not good enough to get invited to take the exam. Is there any kind of selection for the right to take the exam or anyone who has proven eligibility get invited?
Thanks,
Aveline

Thank you, it is good to hear my average is not as terrible as I thought...
However it is wired that there is absolutely no information of that very important issue at the websites of the universities... Also, the only Finlandia university I found is in the USA. Did you mean this one or there is another one in Finland itself?
Thanks,
Aveline

There are many many many people applying and sitting tests to get into uni. It's very difficult and I don't believe based solely on your grade. From this site it seems you also need to write an essay telling why you want to go there to study. So that should be more of a worry than just your marks.
