I sincerely hope you're joking.roger_roger wrote:Our HR is probably going on maternity leave for at least a year, if you have some professional profile or portfolio that I could forward it to my boss?

Oh wow. Somebody flagged my comment linking to her Twitter account and got it removed.
You know what I did? I Googled this thread's title!! It's not like I hired a PI to look into it. She's the one fully displaying her full name in this thread. All you need is select -> right click -> Search this with Google. Paaam. The first result.

You probably already know this, but to whoever flagged it: A future potential employer will Google your name.tummansininen wrote:I am guessing she would just like to be considered for work based on the information in this thread.

Hopefully not all of them since using information from Google is not allowed in Finland.adnan wrote:You probably already know this, but to whoever flagged it: A future potential employer will Google your name.tummansininen wrote:I am guessing she would just like to be considered for work based on the information in this thread.

Childish to take comments away, take then the whole posting away. Well Finnish humor is only..........when the bar opens.
Re: Stacey Parviainen - Employment
My post was removed too, even though it didn't copy the post with the google link.
Strange goings on indeed... at least it sets an interesting precedent. I hope the Mods have time on their hands because it would be nice to have every racist, inflammatory, discriminatory post by every troll who happens to drop in (and there are a few regulars who fall in that category too) removed as quickly and efficiently as these were.
I agree... better to delete the whole thread. The damage is done and lessons have, no doubt, been learnt.

If you dig a bit more in Google on this topic, you'll see that very little learning has been going onRosamunda wrote:lessons have, no doubt, been learnt.

I have more urgent things to do. Sheep to shear...

Hi.
I am all for Stacey to move here, pants down.

You guys are taking the piss, but your derision is misplaced. OP has no ability to delete messages and seems to be rather clueless about the works of a BB or Google. The OP is, at most, hitting report when she/he doesn't like the content, not the one taking it down. Besides, nothing guarantees that this is really Stacey posting (if someone wanted to make his or her ex look stuupido...)
Was there something out of the ordinary in those messages deleted?
Don't think is a great policy to delete the contributions of helpful and long time contributors to this community, not without much of a warning or based on a simple request.

Oh for Christ's sake! Those are two very very different things. One is about the vicious verbal attacks (and death threats) by members of the gaming community against women who spoke up against perceived sexism in the gaming industry.. while the other, this case, is purely about a person's merits related to hiring them for a job in administration or caring for a child.tummansininen wrote:This is why gamergate is a thing.
I indeed agree that some of the comments were nasty (especially the ones talking about her dressing style or wanting her to come to Finland without her pants). As for the rest of the comments, I see no problem with them.

Re: Stacey Parviainen - Employment
I fully sympathize your situation and the way you were/are treated by those pigs.
I will most definitely make the same exact remarks the situation involved a guy in similar circumstances.tummansininen wrote:Adnan, would anyone have spoken about her appearance if it were a man? No. Mocked her skills because she has been a model? No. Suggested that she is not intelligent? No.

Re: Stacey Parviainen - Employment
I thought it was the done thing in Finland, to put your photo on resumes?
I knew someone who employed people. He said there were photos on the resumes and they would interview and employee often the best looking people, especially the women.
Sadly beautiful people, especially women are most times chosen over average people, even if the average person has better qualifications.
I knew one employer in Finland who employed a woman I knew based solely on her looks. She had no qualifications. He rang my friend to ask if she really could do the job because he'd employed her because she was beautiful.
It happens all over the world. It'll never stop. "Hidden" discrimination and the nastiest of a lot of men towards women. Oh, but then you have the even nastier extremist feminists
They're worse towards men then men are towards women
