Means of support

Hello,

I'll need to renew my residence permit based on studies in a couple of months.
Previously, the requirement was to have enough money for an entire year or a sufficient income. As I was checking migri's site today, the only accepted document seemed to be a bank statement showing I have the funds enough for one year.
I was intending to show income as means of support, is there a change in the procedure regarding this since last year?

Legislation has not changed. Using an employment contract is still fine.
