Re: Regarding Residence Permit Renewal
If the reason for issuance of your first RP was studies - so by rule your RP for studies required renewal regardless of you working part time and to do that just follow the instructions for renewal as they are available at the police website. You part time work does not entitles you to upgrade your permit type if that is you are digging.
I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse. I'm gonna grant him all my old underwears that fit his head helping his nose stays in place
Re: Regarding Residence Permit Renewal
Generally, part-time job contracts are accepted the police to renew study-based B permits. So no problem with that.
Your job needs to cover your life expenses (equivalent to the 6720/year), and that seems to be your case. You also have enough credits.
In my non-official opinion, I think your situation is good. No worries.
Now you just need to apply and get the official answer.

Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

This was my case last year. I got a part-time job with a 1 year contract. What I needed to provide the police were the contract and some payslips (in my case, I worked online, so I gave my bank statements to the police)

Which means laws were broken. You can only be paid for work with a Finnish payslip or then you need to be incorporated as a sole trader. The latter means you will have financial statements to show. Online work usually means foreign parties that don't care about Finnish employer obligations which leaves the sole trader route as the only legal option.farfaraway wrote:This was my case last year. Well, I asked the police before I submitted the application. They said that if I have a written contract and some bank statements showing that I actually earned the money, then it's okbetelgeuse wrote:Which means laws were broken. The fact that I have my permit renewed proves that it works as long as you actually work within the limit and earn enough money to support your living in Finland

I was not doing anything illegal or intending to break the law. I always consult the police when I am not sure about something

So how did the Finnish tax authority and pension funds get the money they are due? The immigration clerks at the police are not required to be taxation experts (though according to this thread, maybe they should be). Yes your approach worked from the perspective of the Aliens Act. The fact that you renewed the permit does not mean other facets are also in order.farfaraway wrote:Well, I asked the police before I submitted the application. For tax questions you would consult vero, not police.farfaraway wrote: I was not doing anything illegal or intending to break the law. I always consult the police when I am not sure about something

I paid tax as well (I don't remember the exact amount of how much I had to pay, Vero did all the calculation based on my estimated income for the whole year). I contacted Vero right after I got the contract. And since the employer is not in Finland, they asked me to make pre-payment once every 2 monthsbetelgeuse wrote:So how did the Finnish tax authority and pension funds get the money they are due? I think I forgot to mention that the police asked for my tax card as well. And because I have it already, everything else just worked

Was your employer a Finnish company?farfaraway wrote:I paid tax as well (I don't remember the exact amount of how much I had to pay, Vero did all the calculation based on my estimated income for the whole year). Interesting that Vero allows that. I wonder what legal basis they use for that. Are you paying TYEL or YEL?farfaraway wrote: I paid tax as well (I don't remember the exact amount of how much I had to pay, Vero did all the calculation based on my estimated income for the whole year).
