Hi all,
A friend is asking - "How much do I need to own (% of shares) in an OY company to become an Entrepreneur?"
To my knowledge, you have to have at least 30% share of the OY company to be considered an Entrepreneur in Finland. I can't validate this as there are so many online sources which contradicts or do not give full explanation.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Entrepreneur status in Finland
I think owning shares in an Oy and employing yourself to obtain an employment resident permit is an easier route.
If your non EU you might only gain the ability to start an TMi business number in your name using the self employment res permit, but the Oy will be a better cover business in Europe.
for example-Employment res permit
I have OY shares and i work in that company, i can work for hrs, performance, monthly salary , whatever i choose.
Im non eu and my status does not allow me to open a TMI.
self employment res permit
You can do all the Oy options aswell as open a TMI
Note- i was never a student here and students can open TMI.
Theres not any real benifit to going for a self employed res permit unless you are transferring an existing business to make a legal connection in your name.
