Apprenticeship funding for employer

Post by esox » Thu Sep 10, 2015 1:34 pm

Hi all, I am starting work in a marine services facility/workshop which is my background. The long and the short without a life story is I wish to further myself by moving into the engineering side of the marine trade and becoming fully qualified. The employer has the facility to do this however the cost of an employee learning on the job is quite considerable as it will be some time before you will be trusted to open the bowels of a 10,000 euro engine. I am just off to the te office/national board of education offices to ask but wondered if anyone knows or has experience of government subsidised 'on the job' learning funds for students, in particular funds payed to the employer. Also who would be the correct agency to contact regarding this. Im sure i would get along just fine working my way up slowly but it would be great to offer this route to the employer then it is win-win situation for us and finland as it will raise me to a higher tax band in the long run.

regards.
