Internet scammer from Finland
Hello,
I am a freelance 3D designer, and I worked online with someone based in Finland, when job finished I delivered all files to the guy but refuses to pay without reason.
I am outside Finland, is there anything I can do against this guy, I have all his contact details ; Name, Skype, Email, Website etc..

- file a complain with the police (probably won't do anything)tarasboulba wrote:Hello,

- hire a lawyer and start a civil procedure (cost probably more)
- sell your claim to a collecting agency (they're not interested for only one small claim)
- thread him with naming and shaming
- If you know where he'll use it, start a copyright violation procedure

- thread him with naming and shaming : I can do this.
- If you know where he'll use it, start a copyright violation procedure : he claimed that he won't use what I delivered, that's why he refuses to pay me, who knows where and how he's gonna use it,

Re: Internet scammer from Finland
i think it would be good if you post his/her details here.
that way, at least finland forum users won't get scammed, and others can find it via searchengine.

Right... hell no....tuttu wrote:i think it would be good if you post his/her details here.

Posting stuff like that would be tantamount to libel regardless of veracity of the claim...

The loosing party pays the legal costs. Still for many claims it often is not worth the trouble. If the claim is under 2000 and the OP is situated in another EU country, it's possible to use the European small claims procedure:rinso wrote:- file a complain with the police (probably won't do anything)tarasboulba wrote:Hello,

Since it's based on standard forms and process, doing it without a lawyer is quite possible.

I wouldn't call the debtor as scammer, at least not yet. And he seems to have a reason not to pay, albeit not a good one.

No reason here,He is indeed a scammer, he's based in Finland but the guy is from a country where 80-90% of Internet scams come from.Upphew wrote:I wouldn't call the debtor as scammer, at least not yet. And he seems to have a reason not to pay, albeit not a good one.
Re: Internet scammer from Finland
Let the scammer know, that you are going to inform tax office about him. That should get you your money.
