Its October and i started having itching in my inner thigh. It didnt cross my mind that it could be a tick bite. Same day i noticed this, i started having body ache and flu symptoms. Yesterday morning i noticed that the redness around the bite mark grew to 15 cms in diameter. I went to see the doctor and he prescribed antibiotics immediately. He said its the bacterial type of tick- He did not even want to check if there is any parts of the tick inside me or not. Is this normal? My wife and her dad had had many tick bites this summer, but having a tickbite in unexposed places during fall got me unguarded.
Am i too late at the treatment? Should I get worried?

Obvious borreliosis or Lyme decease. Apparently it can sometimes be transmitted by other insects as well. I'd think you're OK after the antibiotics; from public sources I can only find descriptions like if the antibiotics don't help with the rash or there are other symptoms, go to see a doctor again.....

I took my antibiotics to the clock without missing it even once. After finishing my dosage and having waited few months, it seems that the symptoms have not returned and i feel healthy.
