Car maintenance Turku
Car maintenance Turku
Does anyone know a reliable and cheap garage in Turku?
The offer I received from the dealer where I bought the car was 360 euros for oil and filters(air, diesel, oil) change. Isn't it too much?
I could change myself most of them but I think its better to be written in the service booklet.
Thx

Ask on a mark-specific forum, they'll know what each service should cost and the best places to take your car to. In general, a complete service booklet loses its importance the older and more used your car gets, ultimately it will be cheaper in total to do the services yourself.

What make and how old is your car?

Kia Cee'd diesel 1.6 2009 , ~190.000 km

Kia's would be serviced in delta Rieskalähteenkatu 71 officially? But as you said, you were at the dealer(ship?), this would make me think this is the place where you were?
For air, diesel/oilfilter & oil change, helluwa hefty, unless there is whole lotta computer luv' in your car (aka. very complex computers). Otherwise, I'd say 80-150€. I personally go to Autohuolto Nieminen, I really doubt his english skills, and his garage is definitely very close to the Kummeli sketch, but he really gets the job done and at a reasonable cost. As a sidenote also, the place does seem abandoned, it is not. That is the Kummeliesque part, just go there somewhere between 8-16 he'll be there.
Another place that I'd suggest would be in Runosmäki, I'm not completely sure whether or not they actually do oil filters, but scratches and bumps (peltikorjaamo) and for a very reasonable price Location.
As Finnguyhelsinki said, if you really want to think more of the retail value, then go to Delta, otherwise Nieminen is actually really reliable, Kummeliesque in manner, definitely, but good. Or if the Runosmäki guys do oil-changes as well then that is also good.
P.S. I do have a Peugeot 106 which is all mechanic, so I know all mý costs are a tad cheaper in anycase... but anyhoo 360 for that sounds a lot.
P.P.S Hell i just remembered Motonet Turku actually has somekind of repair place nowadays, ask them as well. (If you do not know motonet, that is the place where everyone gets their car parts (e.g. Nieminen as well), and just so it happens, their main storage & (new feature)repair is there as well ) No idea of their prices. but; Motonet

Re: Car maintenance Turku
Thank you for the reply.
Here is the actual email they sent to me:
- Motor oil and filter
- Fuel filter
- Motor air filter
- Brake- and clutch fluid
- Fresh air filter
We also check all things what manufacturer advice and we upgrade the engine control unit.
This service price is 465 € include work and parts. If you buy yourself motor oil, oil filter, fuel filter, motor air filter, fresh air filter that price is 285 €.
Isn't it to much??

Considering it's Delta (a brand agent's service) it's not overtly overpriced, haven't checked but their service labor charge could easily be close to 100€/hour. Depending on the car model, changing something other than the engine oil and oil filter may require taking things apart (and obviously re-assembly afterwards), so while not necessarily technically challenging, it may be time-consuming. Also bleeding the brakes without someone's assistance or a dedicated tool will be difficult (i.e. you'll need one of those if doing it yourself). If one is bringing their own oil and parts, some services charge extra as a form of compensation for their lost profit from sales (albeit the official explanation is that customers often bring incompatible parts leading to additional work). Personally I wouldn't bother doing it on my own, then again I don't have the tools, a suitable place nor much interest for working on a car for several hours so that I could save a couple of hundred euros.atroul wrote:This service price is 465 € include work and parts. I got an offer of 362 euros for the same service from http://www.korjaamoalankokai.com/
and maybe I will buy and change myself the air filter for the engine and for the cabin which are easy to change and I will save 20-30 euros.
