Bank statement requirement
Hiya,
I was wondering if you Guys could point me the right direction.
I am in process of applying to study bachelors in Finland (hopefully this January)
As of now I'm in Hungary. And according to information provided in websites, I can see that expenses money should be held under applicants name. But no where it says for how long.
Can I request my father to deposit funds about 2-3 month prior to visa application? Since I'm a student in budapest, Hungary. I can't put more burden on him by asking for extra 7k Euros.
I'll have to later though when (hopefully) my application is successful.
Any suggestions or advices will be really appreciated

Re: Bank statement requirement
As a rule, you need to have the required funds at the time you apply. There's no such requirement that for how long it should be in your account before you can apply, however it would depend on the migri officers how they see it. If they find it suspicious, they will probably ask for some explanation or straight reject the application.
If 7K is a burden, please give this whole plan another thought. How you would manage another 7k for each of next three years? If you are relying on the jobs during the studies, you are going to have a bad time.

Hello,
Thanks for your kind reply. The burden is as of now because I'm currently studying in Budapest and have paid full one year's fees, so I can't just ask my dad to put another 7k euros in my account immediately.
If, however, as you suggest, that there is no such time binding requirements. Then I can genuinely ask my dad to transfer the funds prior to visa application, say 3-4 months before, along with with genuine proof of funding as well.
Not really, job will be for the purpose of getting pocket money and integrating learning more Finnish culture, exposure to Finnish society, but not as a means to support myself. Because you could either study or work. can't do both at sametime. especially when you're looking for undergraduate course

Lots of people study AND work at the same time.
Re: Bank statement requirement
A- What makes you so sure you're gonna find a job soon enough to give enough money to live in Finland? Your plan seems to be to return the money to your father as soon as you get the OK for your RP. Stupid plan, sorry.Stealthviper wrote:Not really, job will be for the purpose of getting pocket money and integrating learning more Finnish culture, exposure to Finnish society, but not as a means to support myself. B- You can study and work at the same time. I've done it, other people in the forum have done it, and many others have done it as well. If YOU cannot do it, it doesn' t mean it can't be done
Every case is unique. You can't measure the result of your application based on arbitrary anecdotes online.

Hello,
I really appreciate your meaningless response. If you had paid a little bit of attention to what I said you would know there is no such " plan' as earning and returning the money to my dad. Stop making stories in your head !
As I have mentioned clearly my purpose to find work will be to get a good exposure to Finnish society, not earn and study at the same time like you.
And next do me a favour, if you cannot write politely then don't bother to write at all.

Hello,
I see that you are having confusion regarding bank statement.I have just been denied for resident permit so i guess now i know what I should and shouldnt do..firstly the sponsor who is going to transfer money to your account should have more fund then he is going to transfer.if the money in the sponser is from saving from his salary then a proper saving should be done..I hope that it has helped you..

You can't have a sponsor.
