I am selling my car right now (very good Nissan Almera 2003 for a bargain price BTW -
http://www.nettiauto.com/en/nissan/almera/7686477 ).
I know that transfering car ownership is easy: you just write the buyer's name in the "2" part of the car docs, but how can I be sure that buyer does transfer money (or gives cash) after I write his name there? Or how can he be sure I will write his name down if he transfers the money first?
That is the second time I am selling the car in Finland and last time I just trusted the guy to make a transfer a minute after I wrote his name, but there should be a more proper and safe process, shouldn't there? Are banks, for example, providing some sort of safe transaction service?

How to sell car safely in Finland? What is the process?

Some options:
- If you both bank at the same bank, you can immediately see the transaction in your mobile bank
- Do the transaction over the counter in the buyer's bank
- Use a service like https://pikasiirto.fi and verify with your mobile bank
Before the transaction you verify the identity documents of both parties. Take pictures and if either party doesn't follow through, the other party does a crime report.

If he pays as an online transfer, the money needs to show on your account before you sign/give the keys. Some printount isn't good enough. Best-est way as said is go to the bank, if you have an account in the same its good so you can do a withdrawal/deposit (doing a giro costs

)

Oh, and from experience, bank and money is 1st, and then you both go do the deal at "katsastus"
From experience, some "multicultural enrichments" don't change the registration within the 7 days, so you end up getting the parking tickets, car tax bills, and finally a fine for driving an uninsured car. These days the police are more vigilant, but if you are selling a banger away, getting it "off your name" is the main worry.

Hello,
One of my friend sold his car (approx. 2000 eur).
The buyer comes back after one month asking him to take back car saying he found some issue.
What should be done in this case.
Thanks.
