I am planning to move back to Finland by february of 2016 . And here is my situation and questions :
It is being really difficult for me to get a job , and seems like it'll take a long time. I would run out of money in a matter of months , so I wonder : Can I get unemployment benefits being owner of a residence card without previous employment ? This really bothers me , Obviously I don't want to end up as homeless / starving , so I need to get information about this kind of helps
Thanks !

Re: Receiving unemployment benefits
How long have you been gone and what is your residence permit?JormaOikarinen wrote:I am planning to move back to Finland by february of 2016 . And here is my situation and questions :

If you have been away for more than 1 year and you have a permanent residence permit, you should register at TE-office as soon as you are registered residing in Finland, at the same day you register at Kela and apply for unemployment benefits. You might get a waiting period before you receive unemployment benefits, for this waiting time you can apply for social aid benefits at social office, so make an appointment there too preferably the same day.
Basic unemployment allowance will be something like ±450 euros a month after tax.
In all other situations, greatly depends on your residence permit.
good luck

Re: Receiving unemployment benefits
Based on what you wrote this spring, I don't think you'll get any social benefits if you come here.JormaOikarinen wrote:I just turned 18 and a half , This summer I'm going back to Tampere and rented a small house. I have no previous job and no studies (Only elementary school)
We have been telling you that all the time.It is being really difficult for me to get a job
The situation is Spain might be bad, but for you the prospect here is not better.
Stay in Spain till you have a better starting position. At least it's warmer there.

Re: Receiving unemployment benefits
Based especially on what was quoted from "Jorma's" earlier posts: [assuming he ever gets any grounds for residence permit to begn with, that's an other story altogether]_
there is no 'might get' in the waiting period. You will get waiting period, if you do not have previous employment or vocational/university/etc. degree.
if you do NOT have a degree or a completed vocational training (must provide certificates, and even then it is decided by the TE hags if they deem your training worthy; generally has to be at least a few years' vocational training that can be verified), you will be put on mandatory 5 month (21 weeks) waiting period before you get one cent.
This honestly is not mentioned often/clearly enough on the general Kela's pages, nor will the TE people tell you this first hand. The info is there, but somehow it seems they usually forget to mention this.

And seriously, you OPs asking these simple questions: GOOGLE.COM is your friend. Voiko sitä enää selvemmin saatana sanoa?

Re: Receiving unemployment benefits
And if you are under 25 you will never qualify as a registered jobseeker eligible for unemployment benefit anyway, because you're supposed to be in full-time study until you have a qualification. Special rules for under 25s, yay. If you never attempt to get into a study place you will never get cooperation from either Kela or TE. Once you are in an appropriate course or degree, TE will say, ok go ask Kela for the student money. And Kela will say no if you came to Finland as a student and don't have any reason for being social security covered.
