It’s the multi-instrumentalist Osmo Ikonen playing an instrumental arrangement of Francis Lai’s Aujourd’hui C’est Toi live on cello, accompanied by a looper. This is to celebrate the last minutes of the final broadcast of the current affairs show Ajankohtainen kakkonen, which used to use Lai’s composition as its theme. The show came to an end last Tuesday, having been aired weekly on YLE TV2 for 46 years.
(Curiously, the BBC current affairs show Panorama — which is still running and was first broadcast some 15 years earlier — has also been using different versions of the same song as their theme.)
