Extra tax for going over the declared income for one year

Post by farfaraway » Tue Dec 29, 2015 12:03 am

Hi, this is my current situation

I started working on June with (A) EURO per month in a permanent full-time position. I filled in the tax form online and gave my tax card to the employer. After about 4 months, due to some circumstances I went to work for another company with a salary of (B) EURO per month (B > A). Since my salary increases, I needed to update my tax card but the problem was that I didn't know how much money I would receive for the last 3 weeks working for the old company, so I put some estimated number and printed out the tax card to give it to the new company.

After few months, I totally forgot about that, and now I receive the payslip for December which costs me about 200EUR more in tax due to the difference between the declared income and the actual income for 2015

I know that this is my mistake for not updating my tax card. Is there anything I can do to correct that (to get back that 200EUR)?

Thanks.

*2015*

So your withholding percentage was too high. Like most people, you will get the difference refunded next year. Nearly all Finns seem to prefer to get some cash back from Vero at the end of the year rather than have to pay extra. There is nothing you can do about it now.

One can make sure that vero.fi has the account number so they can pay back in December :)
