Where to buy electrical appliances & household stuff online

Post by aaronabelchen » Fri Jan 22, 2016 10:10 am

Hi! Just arrived in Helsinki, found a flat and need to buy household stuff.

Does anyone have any suggestions where I can buy stuff online (at good discounts) for:

1. Electrical appliances - Vacuum, Blender

2. Household stuff: Bedsheets, towels, pillows, cutlery etc.

I used to live in London, so Amazon.co.uk was like heaven on earth for me. But I'm sure buying from Amazon now = import tax?

Thanks!

Just jumping in to correct typos: gigantti.fi netanttila.com
You have something against Antti? ;)

Also Ikea. The free buses leave from Kiasma (city). http://www.ikea.com/ms/fi_FI/palvelut/i ... index.html

Definitely would check Ikea first. How accessible verkkokauppa.com is nowadays? Haven't visited them after they moved.

Not import tax, but most of the time the stuff either won't shipped here at all, or the shipping costs will be so high that it won't make sense.

For price comparison http://hintaseuranta.fi/ might be of some use, even if you don't know language (type the name of the product model to the search box at the top).

And for 2) IKEA really is a quite good option.

OP didn't ask about buying underwear. But if Ikea did sell it I'm sure it would be called Nikörs, or Upshört, or something.
