lets say if I first came to finland with B visa from Jun.2007 and got A on Jan.2009. now I have P visa. but from jun.2010-oct.2011 I was not in Finland.Also from jan.2015-jun.2015 I was not in Finland(not more than 6 months). if I'm going to apply citizenship. will this 2 long periods a problem?

Yes, I think the documents sit somewhere there with an alarm and when it is the 6th month the alarm rings and its starts getting processed to be delivered by 7th month depending on the clarity of application. Cos I just got request for supplementary doc today and same for a friend who applied same day as me.

Your continuous residence has started in October 2011. The processing time is 7 months. You already qualify if you have strong ties (4 years needed). By the time your application is processed, you might have 5 years any way.

Yes. My friend got it already which is pretty on time. Mine is not yet cos I don't have the most straightforward application. So I guess the timeline is fine [/quote]
My friend was right... He said the last month feels like the slowest...I wasn't thinking about the whole thing at all until I realized its almost ready. and now i cant get it out of my head.

I applied in end of may. they requested for additional doc in december. now nothing just waiting

It is possible you don't have a very straightforward application.

Yeah but sometimes things like travel, police record, if your had a permit before you came to finland and so on could have an impact on how long it takes. I also submitted requests for additional documents same day ib December. Like my case, I travelled extensively in the past two years so I guess I am being made to wait.[/quote]
