Tampere: Master's Degree Programme in Health Sciences
I am interested to hear peoples experiences or what they have heard about the public health/international health in tampere. I am considering applying next cycle and wanted to know peoples thoughts or opionions.......how is the program, do you get financial support from kela for a masters degree, from where did you graduate before applying UTA.

I am doing it. It is rubbish. The lecturers just read off their slides in a monotone. No foreigners have gotten jobs in the area in Finland in terms of previous graduates. Some have gone on to do a paid doctorate, they then lecture and are crap as have no real experience. Some of the guest lecturers are good.
There is no intake until August 2017. Intake is every 2 years. Your flag is USA, non-EU citizens will have to pay from now on, it is not free anymore. Coming to Finland purely to study does not entitle you to KELA support, for you or an EU citizen.
The course heavily pushes multiculturalism, migrant rights etc. it's full time, 120 ects, a lot of nonsense compulsory stuff like academic writing, which in most universities is offered for those who need it as a non credit extra, there are a few classes like that, rubbish and time consuming. The courses are baby's stuff, but the exams are very hard - it does not gel.....
I would not pay for it. I did it because I moved to Finland for a man (sigh) and may as well finish it. And leave. I can do the thesis wherever. Save your money. Do it in Australia if you want to travel.

Why would you go to Australia? Uni is not free. It will eventually catch with America.
