Asking about doing biz : Chaga mushroom

Post by canaryfudo » Wed May 18, 2011 11:55 pm

Hi, My name Minh

I am very interested in Chaga Mushroom in FInland, but I don't know where to contact the people who know about this or any producer of this type of mushroom. If possible, I would like to cooperate in export Chaga mushroom to other country.

Thank you very much.

Producer? Its a sickness in rotten trees, and those are in nature preserves mostly.

Chaga mushroom (pakurikääpä in Finnish) is supposed to make a hell of a healthy tea. All the superfood wackos are going crazy over it. Selling it for consumption is currently forbidden in the EU, though, as it is novel food.

More info on the ban in Finnish at the Finnish food safety authority Evira's website: Pakurikäävän kaupallinen elintarvikekäyttö ei ole sallittua.

Thank you very much for your great information. and the link also.

I have research about it. Chaga mushroom is not allow to selling within Europe country, so it mean you can sell in other country outside of Euro. My importer is in Asia so it is possible to sell . I think.

I just don't know if there is any people who use this mushroom in large number?so i can collect and sell it . I would like to cooperate .

I don't think so, if you buy online the product will be delivered to your home.

Check, major shopping websites, I think they may have listed chaga products on their websites as well.

That wasn't the last news item on the topic:
http://www.evira.fi/portal/fi/elintarvi ... /?bid=2726

or in English:
14. Chaga mushroom ( Inonotus obliquus) considered a novel food?

– Chaga mushroom ( Inonotus obliquus) is in the EU considered a novel food, which may only be used broken or as an aqueous or ethanol extraction in the food supplements referred to in the Food Supplements Regulation. Chaga mushroom may also be sold and marketed at least in Finland as a tea-type product (herbal tea). In this context herbal tea refers to a brewed drink prepared by aqueous extraction of fresh or dried plant or plant part, and used in the same way as tea or coffee. The use of Chaga mushroom in other foods (so-called "conventional" foods, such as smoothies, beverages, protein powders, bread or cocoa), however, is forbidden until the marketing authorisation referred to in Novel Food Regulation (EC) 258/97 has been applied for and granted to it.
Upphew's link above seems potentially useful

Hi,
I went to walk through Pornaisniemi, Viikinranta Helsinki last Sunday and there were a lot of trees cut down and left alone to rot on the ground.
I saw the mushrooms, too, in many places. You can just walk there and collect them as you wish.
