Well, parturi Nowruz seems quite busy. From the Sörnäinen metro station you can walk toward Teollisuuskatu and
there is a small parturi shop "Aleksis" at Aleksis Kiven katu 12 E 150, which is operated by an Iraqi and he also charges 10€
for a cut. Been there today and he's quite a nice guy. Welcome to the competition.

Hi.
While walking in Vallila today, I found anther 10€ hair cut shop at Mäkelänkatu 18.
For women, the cut will cost 15€.
The price competition will be getting mighty tough.

A few months ago went to the place in Aleksis Kiven katu (10 or 12) that I saw in one of these threads.
10 eur for a 20 min cut, not bad. Not going back, though, he's not very good nor inspires me confidence.
He also doesn't speak much english, btw.

"The price competition will be getting mighty tough."

Not from what I see -- 99% of places have no trouble charging 25€ and up

And women plow money into those places by the 100€s

BTW. The barber shop Nowruz raised the price to 12€. The whopping 20% raise.

10 euro, saloon holiday , leppavaara, few minutes walk from railway station. I use this place every month, descent cut, much much better than the 30e cut I used to have from my local barber lady. Guy over there speaks finnish/english and is a foreigner

Please - have you got a more specific location/address for Leppävaara? There are a lot of places in a lot of directions a 'few minutes' from station.

Thanks - the exact location will surely save an hour wandering around Leppävaara

Good thing too to know it is Salon - not Saloon. There has been a habit of offering coffee at barber shops - I was wondering if there had been some change in that idea :)

So where did you get your coffee at barber shop?
I've been to many barber shops in many countries so far and the only once I had a coffee break during being cut... barbers and customers alike, everyone's
drinking coffee.
It was in Amsterdam and in 1970.

I suppose it (coffee) still exists in some of the 25+ euro places. I've never been in one of those.

It was commonplace probably in late 80's - early 90's - and haircuts were at some reasonable price (cf. average income) - then the 'division' began - 1. snobby shops where many kept the coffee - 2. the more regular shops with still 'too expensive' prices 3. and now the 'just off the boat' 10-12€ places

Hi.
Walking down from William K. toward WC Girls (aka Loo Sisters) and on, I found a brand new barber
that says 10€ hair cut for men yesterday. It is at Sörnainen. Its name was Room or something like that.
From across the street I sort of saw two Indian-looking women were on the job.
That makes me wonder how they are obsessed with gold and other glittering things.

Anyway, Nowruz is expanding to the other side of their street, I can hardly wait for my hair to grow long enough for cutting...

To empathize; impossible. My mother cut my hair at home and then girlfriends did it with myself occupied with it when I was alone. I have never paid someone to cut my hair. Make friends and have them cut your haircut, or do it yourself "DIY" mode.
EDIT: For what to write this. It is your matter. I will not free advertising for any so to write there are haircuts for about 15 and perhaps less even in Helsinki.

I've been going to Nowruz in Sornainen since my last post, but the last time I went the haircut was terrible and they even cut me in two places, so now I'm thinking another place (and one closer to where I live) might be better. Any thoughts on that JAFF place in the Forum tunnel? I also heard there was a Kurdish place in Kamppi, but can't seem to find it online.
