Hi,
Recently, I moved to a new job. In my previous job, I accumulated 14 months worth of vacations (1.3.2015-30.5.2016) and didnt took any of it. So, what difference does it make if I would have taken the vacation as compare to not taking any. Do I get extra pay for it. Do I have to agree with my employer on this or it would be taken care of automatically.
Transition between Jobs
Re: Transition between Jobs
Briefly they will pay the money for your vacation (usual base salary), but most probably you will not receive an usual 50% vacation bonus for a year at least, as usually it is paid to current employees only.

Depends. Many collective agreements have made the former "return from holiday bonus" to just a holiday bonus.mdn wrote:Briefly they will pay the money for your vacation (usual base salary), but most probably you will not receive an usual 50% vacation bonus for a year at least, as usually it is paid to current employees only.

You can agree with the employer that either you
a) get the vacation time payed
b) you take your last days off and use your vacation then
I would talk to the employer to see what the firm policy is.
