I'm not the type to seek social benefits, and I dislike using another country's welfare system unless I've contributed as much;
Commendable. But the system is there for those who fall through the cracks. So using it when you try to get your life back in order is not a bad thing. (freewheeling without initiatives however is)
So my question is that if I was to return to England and to reestablish my life there, would I still be chased by the Finnish social services for child maintenance fees and etcetera...?
Probably. But Brexit might make the bureaucratic synchronization more difficult. So it is not to predict.
that if I was to give up full custody of the child, then under no circumstances would I was entitled to paying child maintenance fees.
Not true (imho). No custody means no rights, but the obligations remain.

As long as you transfer the money, they probably won't bother you.

You are thinking just about yourself and how greedy your ex is.

At some point in the past you must have wanted the woman enough to make a child with you.

According to you, you are like so many other deadbeat parents, who think so selfishly that they shouldn't help pay for their child. It is bad enough you are abandoning your own flesh and blood. Now you won't help fund the raising of said child?

What a charmer you are!

I guess no one will hunt you down after when you move out from here.
Not so sure about that. I know that social services in the EU exchange information and facilitate claims.
It might take some time but there is a reasonable chance they'll track you down. And then you have to come up with the months (or years) you have been avoiding payment.

They will, if there is an agreement between the two countries. You might even have to also pay interest. It won't be the mother you have been denying funds to, but the Finnish Government. Because if you won't pay, she can get it straight from the Government, who will hunt you down for payment. No one gets away with not paying the Finnish Government

don't want to hijack this thread but some related question to this and would appreciate answers for them

1) If a person has a casual unprotected fun with a girl and its just a one night stand, and then girl becomes pregnant, does that person need to pay child maintenance fee to the mother?
2) If a girlfriend accidentally becomes pregnant and the boyfriend does not want the child but the girl is persistent on having the baby, they split and the kid is born, is the bf still obliged to pay child maintenance fee?

In both cases, the guy has not agreed to having the baby

As far as I understand, that is the principle lawmakers had in mind when laws are made. DNA is from the guy, he is expected to pay, end of discussion. Of course, it depends from country to country on how harshly they are chased down by government to pay the money... Some countries don't even care if the guy has a job or not, he has to pay...

Then better start a new thread.
1).....
2).....

In both cases, the guy has not agreed to having the baby
In both cases he has to pay (if he's recognized as the father).

In both cases, the guy should have used rubber. It is too late to not agree after ejaculation.

97-98% iirc, but that is still the only easy way for male to keep his lil swimmers at bay. *snipsnip* is always an option, but iirc you need to be 30 years old here to get that operation done.

Who has a one night stand without protection?!! Abortion is not family planing and since it's a risky procedure, a girl has a right to say no to it. All needed is proof of partanity for your obligations to hold. The only trick is to wrap it up at all times!!
