If you quit your job in Finland, you do not get KELA money for what I believe use to be at least 3 months. If it is like this when you quit, then I assume the same if she resigned, of her own accord. If the company was offering resignation packages at the time, then she'd get whatever money is offered, or if she is a part of a union, get the 501 days of money. If it is neither of these things, she just resigned, aka quit, she gets nothing for some months.

Thank you Flossy for your message. In this case she's part of a union PAM but she will be offering her resignation just because she wants to join her husband in another city.So we're just wondering if she'll get support or she'll have to wait for three months.

Thank you

TE will decide a period she will not get any support from anyone, it does not matter she is member of union or not. The period without support can be anything from 1 month to 3 or more months.

It won't matter if she is apart of PAU, because you've now written she is resigning of her own accord. Your friend has to resign, then talk to TE. On the rare occasion, an employer will accept a resignation with a pay out. I saw it happen at least once. But I think your friend needs to be pretty high up in the ranks to get that kind of offer.

She has to tell TE she basically quit her job. Why she did. Then it is up to the Government to decide when she will start getting paid. I am not sure how well KELA accepts resigning because of family ties. If there were abuse or something horrible like this, with proof, possibly the outcome would be more favourable.

Good luck.

It's not only resignation, you are banned from benefits for a couple of months if you are responsible for losing your job. It can be resignation, misconduct or any other reason.

Honest and Flossy1978 are not aware that there's an exception if you move to be with your husband.

Ob.nitpick, it says "other half" so as in any "spouse".
