Hi!
I'm an EU citizen (NL), and signed a contract to work for a year or so in Finland.
I will start on 3 October. I know i need to get (1) Register and get a Residence Permit from poliisi (2) Get finnish ID from magistraatti (3) get tax card (verokortti).
My question is: what would the time line be, and how long do (1) (2) (3) take? Can i start working on 3 Oct and just do steps (1) (2) (3) in that week? Or do I need to prepare things weeks in advance? Thanks.
Signed contract, does not have RP yet as EU.

No RP for you, you need to register your right of residence: http://www.poliisi.fi/licences_and_perm ... _residencetimbobel wrote:Hi!

About timeline... no idea. http://www.intofinland.fi/en/coming-to- ... -checklist might be worth a read and you could ask from them about the times. Btw that intofinland.fi page suggest that you can skip part (2), but I would do that anyway as you must be domiciled somewhere and you do that in maistraatti.

Visa is for visiting, Residence Permit for residing.

Vero will do the registration on the spot so there's no need to do things in advance. Vero does enter an address to the population information system so I don't think a visit to maistraatti is needed.Upphew wrote: No RP for you, you need to register your right of residence: http://www.poliisi.fi/licences_and_perm ... _residence
