Hi,
Are there any companies renting out addresses in Finland ? Where I live I am not allowed to use the address? Any ideas?

Thank you!

what about poste restante, does that helps?
For mail, sure. For maistraatti.fi? Dunno. Op's case smells like the landlord is getting handouts or shouldn't be subletting the apartment.

When you enter Poste Restante, maistraatti makes you homeless so it does work. If one is living in a storage space, office space etc, Maistraatti would not accept the address but yes fishy landlord is the most likely case. I wonder what powers authorities had if you choose to live in a space not designed for living.

You could also ask if someone could sell you their address ,that's the way it is done in Denmark. You pay for using someone's address.

Oh yes you are, if it's an actual home designed for living in. Go ahead and register it to Maistraatti, if you have merely been told you are not allowed by the owner/tenant!

If they're playing dirty in renting it to you, personally would send Kela / HOAS a nice juicy letter when I left detailing how much rent I paid to the owner and how long I was paying rent for.

(Note: I am assuming you are an actual tenant paying rent. AirBnB etc does not really count.)

If you're living in storage etc... :( that could be very interesting, I'm also wondering what people could do about it, for example the building managers and the city.

Airbnb is covered by the same legislation as any other lease. There's nothing that would prevent you from registering an AirBnB to the population register.

So she is breaking the law. If found out (and at some point Kela will) she can loose her benefits. And you can be considered an accomplice.
Not a good situation. Better look for a legal way to solve the problem otherwise you could get burned.
For instance, rent a room with her. The rent will be considered income (and reduce some of her benefits) but it will not be a shared household.

She's a thief. All she needs to do to correct this and be honest is to tell Kela that you are sharing the rent, how much you pay, and how much of the floorspace is yours. Then you can register your address.

Or you could... do it yourself by quietly having a word with Kela and then with Maistraatti.

In apartment buildings building managers do have tools when the use of the space does not match the use designated in the articles of association. Will not go to details here since it's too off topic.

In both posts I couldn't see the OP is renting room from her friend, she might be simply living with her without paying a penny and how people jumped on saying her friend is thief and doing illegal things.
The friend already told using the address would affect her benefits.
If you have a shared household with somebody with a normal income, that income will be taken into account for the benefits.
Hiding that fact to keep your full benefits is indeed illegal.

Oh on,she isn't a thief. She is just helping to accomodate me for free.I am a student and I don't have yet have enough money to pay for my own accomodation. The maistraatti said I need to provide them with a Permanent address.Contacting kela won't help at all,am an international student and I'm not qualified for Benefits of any kind.

If you have no income, it will have no effect on her benefits. Any way she is committing fraud on Kela by hiding your living situation. Whether she is also a thief, depends on whether the hiding has an effect on the benefits. If you have income, you can pay her a little for the accommodation. In this situation, you can tell her that you will pay her rent so that she ends up getting as much as before.
