Woooow, that's even faster! Many Congratulations!

Looks like you had a very good professional background and history!
Has nothing to do with it. I have a very good professional background and history, and my case took over 13 months to process (beginning of February 2016 to middle of March 2017). It was 12 months after I made the application before they made first contact for supplementary information, then another 45 days after I provided supplementary information before they gave a decision. This was in Helsinki.

@podzap I have the feeling that they don't process the applications from those who have another EU citizenship as fast as others (I don't have much evidence to support this though). Maybe because EU citizens are treated similarly across EU anyway, migri gives less priority to those cases. Could that have played a role in lengthening your application?

@brexit

As I remember you submitted additional documents on request. Does your application timeline shows something like following :

Your application is waiting for your reply to a request for supplementary information.
You have replied to a request for supplementary information.

They also asked my additional info about travel and income but I dont see such updated in my timeline, which some people's timeline shows these statements.
@Paki
If they ask for source of income and travel information after application. Then it means you have to update them if you need to do so otherwise ignore the email/message. It's general information and some people don't need to update at all. But on other hand if they ask you something specific i.e your degree, x to y times you were unemployed how did you support yourself? etc. Then the person who is handling your case will create transaction and will write you a personal letter with his/her own name. I hope it will help you.
Yes thats helps indeed thanks, looks like that was a general notification asking to update the travel and means of support. The email looks general and I am not addressed with name.

Wow this is even fastest so far I have seen on this board! Congratulations.

What is the point of waiting for delaying after asking for supplementary information like 30 or 45 or 2 months as I have seen on this board??

3 months and some days... wooow things are speeding up :)

I read Migris recent news bulletin and it looks like they have cleared most of the RP applications that were transferred from the police earlier this year. Perhaps this allows them to concentrate more on the citizenship applications, results in much shorter time frame.

By the way, does anyone know if the very same Migri officer who receives your document during identity verification also process your citizenship application later on? OR the processing officer is randomly assigned and nothing to do with the officer who receives the document?

My friends got all their decisions. I have the same credentials and documents with all of them and we moved here to at the same date and time.

Same here, I have applied on 18th October last year and my application is in process since 11th May 2017. A friend of mine has applied on 16th October and nothing has happened to his application. Another friend of mine applied on 7th November and nothing has happened to his application.

I was a passive user of this forum but now I wanna share my time-scale which is really an interesting one! Here comes the fastest of all so far (however, no decision yet but it gives you a good hint about the recent procedures):
---------------------------------------------
26.1.2017 We have received your application and it is pending.
16.3.2017 You have proved your identity and a diary number has been created for your application. You can see the diary number at the top of the page. Your application has been placed in a processing queue.
2.6.2017 The processing of your application has started. Contacting us does not speed up the processing of the application. If we need further information from you, we will send you a request through this service.
---------------------------------------------
I hope I get the decision soon....

Hello guys,
Each case is different and the length of time happens accordingly. Mine case was like this:
Sep 2009 - May 2016 (B visa) = 6 years and 8 months.
May 2016 - May 2017 (A visa) = 1 year.
So it becomes:
B/2 + A = 3 years and 4 months + 1 year.
Now I tell you something, I applied for citizenship on 27 Aug 2016 and at that time my total residential period in Finland was 3 years and 7 months. To get citizenship you have to have "A type residence permit" of at least one complete year but in my case when I applied there were 9 months still needs to be completed for this "A permit" :wink: , however I got my citizenship after one year completion of "A permit".
The point here I am trying to write is that, if someone has lived at least 3.5 years (with either A visa or combination of A+B) and has a permanent job contract alongwith language certificate could apply and hope so the case will be handled within 6 months otherwise it could take longer as in my case. So to put it in a nutshell each case is different. :lightbulb:

I agree with you that every case is different and there can be many reasons why processing a case might take long (for example in your case not having one year of A permit at the time when you applied). But, it is still interesting to see what experiences people have in the fast cases. I assume, even if everything is exactly as migri asks for when you apply, it still takes sometime before they start looking at your case. I wonder what is that minimum time at the moment. But from what people have been saying here lately, it looks like it is around 3 months which is really short compared to previous years!
