Summer camp for children in Finland
Hi, we are a Chinese family and are planning for touring Northern Europe this summer. Our daughter is 9 and is very curious about this wonderful world, but she hopes to have some time with kids of her age. She is interested in attending camp for a week or two. She doesn't speak Finnish, but can speak English and Chinese, and is very friendly and well traveled. Does anyone know of a camps for teenagers in Finland, near Helsinki?

Hello,
First, welcome to Helsinki for summer. The weather is generally good in July and here are a lots of nature parks, so I believe you have good chance to arrange a lot of outdoor activities with family. For example you can visit:

on the same page, you can also find other nature reserved places to visit. July is good already for picking blueberry and some early mushrooms.
For the summer camps, there are a lot of them arranged by professional camp runners or local hobby clubs. Something like Architecture courses was regarded and both well organized and inspiring for kids development. The instruction language was in English.

There are also sports camps ran by professional sports educator. Near to Helsinki, there is Kisakallio sports center. A lots professional teams were trained there. It is also Finnish national sports team training centers. They have own accommodation so whole family can live there and join groups.

Annantalo has an international scout group in this summer.
But there is a little problem: most of summer camps are running whole year except July. Yes, it is very strange. Nobody seems to be interested to work during July. So when they can arrange schedule, they do avoid it.
