Considering sub zero temperatures in Helsinki from Dec to Feb at least, how children go to schools and day cares? Are bus stands are in covered areas? How they travel from home to bus stops with snow and such low temperatures?
We are planning to move to Helsinki from Indía and this winter thing is making me crazy. We’ve 2 kids.. 2 yrs and 4 yrs old.

The municipality plows the paths for pedestrians and people can walk like in the summer. Just need to put on more clothes.

Gloves and hats. And boots. Small kids often wear all-in-one snow suits, warm and waterproof, over their indoor clothes.

Okay thanks! And when do schools remain closed for long vacations (winter break or after session break)? Are daycares also closed during those days/months?

Don't freak out about this sub-zero thing. People lived here for thousands of years and they managed with much less tools than we have now. You'll get used to it.this winter thing is making me crazy.

It may vary by region and by school, but most get 2 weeks around Christmas and New Year, and 2 months (generally all of July and August) in summer.
I don't know about daycares - that might be quite variable.
