Internet subscription
Internet subscription
Does anybody know what is the cheapest home internet monthly subscrpition? Currently with DNA I pay 14,90 but that 2- year offer is expiring soon and the new price will be 21,90. Anything cheaper around? kiitti
Re: Internet subscription
There are not many companies, why not to go to their websites and compare the prices?
Re: Internet subscription
Usually one needs to know the address to get prices out from the usual suspects: dna.fi elisa.fi telia.fi

Re: Internet subscription
Then there's also Moi but do read through the details carefully - irrespective of who you go with.
E.g. there was one that I used a couple of year ago, unlimited voice, messages, and data, EXCEPT if you called a service number that was seemingly normal, including calling for a taxi or a private medical service provider that had a 010 or similar number. Landed up with a higher than normal bill!

Re: Internet subscription
the best option is probably with MOI, unlimited internet for 18e, all the other are more expensive, you can pay up to 31 e a month, crazy.
Re: Internet subscription
Moi doesn't do proper internet service, only 4g.

Re: Internet subscription
in chat they told me they give you a sim to insert in my wifi machine and i'll get unlimited internet, 6 euros a month for the sim and 12 for the internet itself. with 4g do you mean it will be a slow connection?
Re: Internet subscription
Latency sucks and network congestion is probable as more people switch from good old copper to airwaves. But as the price was the thing that mattered, I think that you can't beat that price with copper, coaxial or fiber. Unless there is fiber in the cellar and you are anyways paying for it.
edit. you already do have "wifi machine" that has a slot for sim? Or do you need to buy one?

i already have it, I need to swap the old dna sim with the new one, but if it is a slow as you say, i'd rather stay with dna and pay 21,90 and have a reliable fast serviceUpphew wrote: ↑Thu Apr 11, 2019 12:44 pmLatency sucks and network congestion is probable as more people switch from good old copper to airwaves. Re: Internet subscription
Most likely there won't be any speed or reliability difference, as moi works in DNA's network. And as you won't switch from line to radio and as you already have the hardware... just go with moi.
I don't play much online anymore, but I still abhor the thought of high ping and other people affecting my network speeds. Which is already happening though, I only get 80-85 megs download in peak hours.

Re: Internet subscription
I got a 4G DNA subscription from Gigantti. it was a bit annoying that the prices were not shown on their website, customer support chat or customer support on the phone (they do not publish any phone numbers for the shops themselves). And i'd seen the offer in an espoo store and went into the hyvinkaa branch and then found out that some Gigantii stores are franchises and some directly owned - and only the directly owned had the offer, so had to drive back to Espoo.
Anyway it costs 30e for a 4G data connection and it's rock solid stable and about 80-150Mbit/sec down and between 5-10Mbit up. Once I fitted a roof antenna the upload improved to about 25Mbit. So i'm totally happy with the speed- previously with ADSL I could only get 12 down 1 up because I live in the countryside.
I do not notice any problem due to latency either - but then i'm not playing games on it.

Re: Internet subscription
That's odd! I have a subscription that I pay 19,90e for 100M. I get speeds (depending on the weather) up to 75M. Why 30? Try going to e.g. Jumbo where the shops are closer to each other.

Re: Internet subscription
You mean the 6e is just for the SIM? If yes, what a scam!
Re: Internet subscription
no, it's 6 e for sim and 4 giga, then if you want unlimited it costs 12 e extranetwork_engineer wrote: ↑Fri Apr 12, 2019 3:13 pmYou mean the 6e is just for the SIM? If yes, what a scam!
