Tubular light bulbs!?
Tubular light bulbs!?
I found these in my new home:
1. "2G7" lights in bathroom
2. "G23" light in the kitchen range-hood
All of them are CFL (hazardous and not for mixed dumpster yes?). And it seems difficult to find LED replacements.
What can I do with them? I can live without the light in kitchen range-hood but the two 2G7 CPLs are really annoying. I can't seem to find a 2G7 to E27 adapter either. Change the entire light base/fixture? Why does IKEA list bathroom lamp under different category and none of them are available? Seems to require professional ("Use an authorized electrician") for installation??

Re: Tubular light bulbs!?
You will not find this things in Ikea, you have to go to a proper store, like Power or Class Ohlson.agroot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 12:19 amI found these in my new home:

If you are in a hurry (as in need it faster than ordering online) then I'd pop to https://www.clasohlson.com/fi/b/S%C3%A4 ... isteputket or https://www.k-rauta.fi/rautakauppa/lois ... isteputket to get them.agroot wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 12:19 amI found these in my new home:

Re: Tubular light bulbs!?
Thanks I bought them today!
They're much shorter than the old ones I dumped, but still not LED. Why is there no LED of such size? CFLs are very hot and hazardous.

Re: Tubular light bulbs!?
I don't think CFL is "very hot", actually it's only a couple watts more than LED. And what do you mean hazardous? You mention before that you can't throw them in the garbage dumpster? Well, you cannot do that with LED light either, so I don't see what's the big problem.
Both CFL and LED are considered hazardous waste, as you can check here: https://www.hsy.fi/en/residents/pages/default.aspx

Hm interesting. Why do I find other articles mention LED harmless, such asvla wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 11:39 pmI don't think CFL is "very hot", actually it's only a couple watts more than LED. LEDs are currently not considered toxic by law and can be disposed of in regular landfills.

Re: Tubular light bulbs!?
Chlorinated chicken is also considered ok in US of A. Stuff shouldn't be disposed in landfills anyway, they should be recycled.agroot wrote: ↑Mon Apr 22, 2019 1:47 pmHm interesting.
