I am currently translating a book from Finnish to my native language.
I was wondering if anyone here could help me out with *kalossintapaiset*.

I can't seem to find an exact translation anywhere.
I am thinking of a logical approach, kaloss can mean gum and then tapaiset can derrive from tapainen similar, resembling. Gum like? Like gum boots?
Also, huopatohvelit, are they house shoes, woolen and warm?
Thank you very much for any help.
