Extended permit on different grounds?
moi. I'm on intimate relationship rp at the moment (first rp). If I extend it based on Cohabiting Partners (2 years living together), do I get 4 years rp? Or is it just 1 year again?
Because it's different grounds...?
I've checked the website but just want to confirm your interpretation of it or if anyone has similar experience.
Kiitos

Changing B to A you get one year and changing grounds A to A four years by default.quillcentaur wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 8:19 ammoi. I'm on intimate relationship rp at the moment (first rp). Re: Extended permit on different grounds?
I'm a bit confused of your reply.
I'm actually still waiting for my first residence permit (intimate relationship).
So if I'm applying for extended permit next year but grounds will be Cohabiting Partners (not intimate relationship anymore) how many years do I get for that extension? 4 or 1?
Kiitos paljon

Re: Extended permit on different grounds?
Migri decides how long to issue it on a case by case basis. Generally one year then renewed for four but not always. So the only way to know for sure is when you get the decision from Migri.

Re: Extended permit on different grounds?
Kiitos. I used migri website and it's basically telling me I have to use the first residence permit form for cohabiting partners. I'm not sure if the payment is also for first rp though. Or if it's the cheaper fee for extension..??

Re: Extended permit on different grounds?
Just wondering if anyone actually had the same experience?
First year: intimate relationship rp,
Second year: married or cohabiting partners rp
How many years of rp did you get on your second application?
For extending, did you have to use the FIRST rp form for married/cohabiting? Since on migri, they're saying you can only use the EXTENDED Permit form if you already had rp based on family ties before.
And either way, did you pay around 420 euros or 190 euros?
Would be great to get input from people with the same experience. kiitos

Re: Extended permit on different grounds?
You can extend a residence permit on the same grounds of the first one. If the grounds change, then you are not extending, you are applying for a different residence permit. The fee you have to pay for each kind of residence permit is pretty clear and it's not subject to interpretation. So I don't understand why you are asking this to be honest.quillcentaur wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 2:54 pmJust wondering if anyone actually had the same experience?

When you apply for a permit (first or extended) you can see there how much you have to pay. So if you are not extending your permit you have to apply for a first residence permit on that specific ground and pay that fee. Pretty straightforward.

Re: Extended permit on different grounds?
No need to add unnecessary rude comments...
I'm asking because it's actually vague on migri website. And I'd like some help from people who had the same experience.
https://migri.fi/en/extended-permit
"If you wish to continue your stay in Finland but your residence permit is going to expire, apply for an extended permit. "
"In some cases, you need to submit a different application. Apply for an extended permit on the main grounds of your residence in Finland. "
They still called it extended permit and not first permit if you're extending but different grounds.
Nowhere did they ever mention the things you're saying? Or if I'm wrong, please link to your source and quote the relevant texts.

I understood your case the other way around, sorry. Now I re-read again and I think this is the information you need:quillcentaur wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2019 5:33 pmNo need to add unnecessary rude comments...

My previous answer was because a friend of mine got divorced before the extension of the permit, so he had to apply on new grounds. Of course this is not your case.
