You have made a translation error. An automatic decision proposal (automaattinen päätösehdotus) still means an official needs to take a look at the proposal and make the decision.Barber1 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 10:15 pmHi

"#Maahanmuuttovirasto n kansalaisuushakemuksissa osa-automaatio on ollut käytössä 4kk. Vajaan vuoden aikana vireille tulleisiin ja myönteisiin päätöksiin on tehty automaattinen päätösehdotus 94% hakemuksista. #automaatio #rpa #digitalisaatio".
They say that they have already fulfilled 94% of the applications.

To answer this question one needs to consult a lawyer to make account for personal circumstances and then be able to predict how politicians might change the laws.toystory wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 2:15 pmI live in Finland with my EU wife. I have a 5 year residence card for family members. My wife and I are buying a house soon. I want to eventually become a Finnish citizen. What are the chances of migri not granting citizenship in future? For example, if I make long term goals in Finland, what are the chances of my right residence being cancelled in future or citizenship being denied?

Re: Citizenship Application 2020
There is unfortunately no certainty in these things. You have to just make the best decision you can with the information that you have. No one can accurately predict the future. As long as you meet the requirements, follow the rules, don’t break the laws, etc. as far as anyone can say you have a good chance of becoming a citizen. However, even migri says that even if all of the conditions are met, they do not have to grant citizenship. I haven’t heard of this being used before, but it means that nothing is guaranteed. There is really no certainty with anything in life; the current world situation should help remind everyone of this. My advice, is to do your homework, build your life, and trust that everything will work out exactly as it is supposed to. I wish you the best.toystory wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 2:15 pmI live in Finland with my EU wife. I have a 5 year residence card for family members. My wife and I are buying a house soon. I do want to see the source where Migri claims this or the alternatively point to me what the Nationality Act basis for this would be.heretostay wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2020 4:44 pmHowever, even migri says that even if all of the conditions are met, they do not have to grant citizenship. If my purpose of residence is family and not a work based permit, why are financial circumstances relevant in that case? Is it true that everyone who applies for citizenship has to show that they have worked in the previous year or two? What if they are studying? Or taking a parental leave? etc.

Has any male from West African country received decision within 3 to 6 months recently? It's weird that people are receiving decision between 3 to 6 months and we have to wait untill one year. I know someone whose application has crossed 1 year. Someone clear me on this because I don't know what to think.

Your resident can't be cancelled even after divorce as long as you have a job or a kid. If you divorce after 3 years , you automatically retain your right of residence.... After 5 years living in Finland, you get a permanent resident card for EU family member. 4 years living on Finland, if you are able to demonstrate that you have the Finnish language requirement, you can apply for citizenship.... If you are fast or lucky, you might even get your citizenship before. Decision on your permanent residence is made...

The waiting period according to the immigration decision in October last year is 11-12 months. There are people who get a decision before this time, but not necessarily all. I know a friend of mine who applied on May 10 and he is still waiting.....finblack wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 6:49 pmHas any male from West African country received decision within 3 to 6 months recently? Do I remember correctly that migri is trialing a faster automated processing for randomly selected applications? That could be a reason.finblack wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 6:49 pmHas any male from West African country received decision within 3 to 6 months recently? I'm from a SE Asian country. I have lived here for 4,5 years. I actually got my P permit on basis of work just 2 months before I started to apply for citizenship. I had read somewhere that process could even take 12 - 18 months, so i thought " why not just send the application in, by the time they start the process, i would live here for 5 years already?" Personally, I'm not really sure your country of origin matters that much, because my country has quite high rejection rate for RP application. Anw, I think I was very lucky too.
All the best you guys!
