Hello Good People,
My wife got A residence permit recently. She will be moving Finland at the end of December. Is the anything we can do now in advance so that we don't have wait too long once she is in Finland? Like taking appointments to apply for social security number? I have permanent residence permit.

She hasn't received her RP card yet. Is social security number written on the card?

No – Finland has no social security numbers. Personal identity code usually is on the card but it does not mean one has access to social security. You have to apply separately from Kela. What I would do is book time for at least the following:fastandcurious wrote: ↑Sun Nov 28, 2021 5:35 amShe hasn't received her RP card yet. Is social security number written on the card?
- DVV to have a municipality of residence
- Poliisi to identify for strong online authentication
With strong online auth most things can be done online.
