This is my wife application. We have had no requests or contact from migri at all. My wife is from country that has very good relationship and communication with Finland and it is typically not reason for delays.

I don’t know how much longer she has to wait or why there is delay. I understand processing time can be up to 2 years but so long in stage 2 is confusing for us. There is nothing out of the ordinary about my wife time living in Finland. She anyway has this permanent residence card so it doesn’t effect too much on day to day life. I think it is more mental for her. That she can feels like a fully accepted member of Finnish society.

Not necessarily. As a person who was interviewed I can say that that you don't necessarily have to be "interesting" in a bad way and there is no reason to think that you were "flagged" or they suspect you of something. It can be as simple as you coming from some less represented country, or having education in a non-common field. So there is absolutely no reason to worry. Just wanna reiterate this, because when I was called I was searching for any info online and couldn't find any, so I was freaking out, but there was really no reason to.

As I said "They don't do it just randomly." Sometimes they do it with people that don't fit in the groups that I describe. That is anyway based on my friends' experience.

Well i dont really know what groups you meant actually. My application has moved to in progress on 30th Nov 2021 and since than no contact has been made with me to know more info or requests.

I got email from processing officer that application is now under process so just wait and no specific dates that he can give for any progress or decision.

Thanks for the update. Did you contacted them and they responded to your request or they sent you the email automatically informing about the progress of your application?

I have applied on 1st march 2021 and yes they have responded to my email and answer came from processing officer.

Dear its just 2 weeks ago when processing has started so not very long for me if we see there processing times on website.

How come I have the feeling that this “in processing” is just another way of babysitting and giving false hope to applicants “just wait, your decision will come when it comes”. And when it’s already “in processing” then no one can give you an exact estimate of how long will it takes because it’s entirely case-by-case basis. Pretty well-played

Hi, it took about 8,5 months from the date of submission. I haven’t seen any difference with “waiting for processing” stage though beside queue moving at only 20% speed. No request, no contact. Nothing has happened.

Congrats, Can you explain more about your case? What queue number have you had? Did you have permanent residence? And which continent are you from?

Sorry for the late reply. I don't remember my case number. I am from Kazakhstan.
1.2016 - 4.2017 status B (study).
4.2017 - 3.2019 status A (work).
3.2019 - 15.1.2021 status A (family member).

Usually every new residence card I was getting fast. The one as family member, I got decision during one week.

Proved my identity on 05.11.2021, the queue number kept going up by a few numbers every day (1to 2) , I called migri , but the person on the end of the line said that Kamu only starts to work when you well in into your "application journy" so after a few month ...
Any ideas what might be going on ?

Normal procedure. Just chill. It's like you applied yesterday. There is people who are waiting more then 1 year or almost 2.
