personally in as much as i don't want to get my hopes high about this, but i'm convinced this might be true to some point. For others who have received automated messages in the past, kindly go through them an compare the pattern with mine (check below) and pay attention to the email address the message originated from. I got the last message today at 04:52am

26.03.2021: application submitted online
31.03.2021: Confirmed identity (noreply@migri.com)
26.06.2021: First automated email (eservice-noreply@migri.com) talks about application being in enterfinland and waiting for its turn (Message was only in finnish language)
26.09.2021: 2nd automated email (eservice-noreply@migri.com) asking me to submit up-to-date information like travels, latest payslip etc (message was only in finnish language)
02.03.2021: 3rd automated email (noreply@migri.com) talks about my application waiting for processing, saying also that i can add supplements if there are any changes. (Message was in Finnish, Swedish and English)

Mine follows this pattern except that I didn’t get the second automated message and I applied in June. I do have messages after attaching extra docs to my application: one from no-reply and one from eservice-noreply. If we’re counting by the 3, 6, 9 month automated emails, I shouldn’t have gotten the email blackotokyo, you and others have gotten yet but I did recently.
Most of the people getting the new email in this thread seem to have applied around June 2021.

My theory is that this email shows that your application has been looked at/staged for processing. If it is a straightforward case, you will get a decision quickly like blackotokyo. If not, you might be transferred to some upper department like SUPO and it might still take months. So don’t stress about it. Live your life.

Messages from the online service
I received an automatic message from Enter Finland. When does Enter Finland send automatic messages, and can I stop them?
A notification is sent by email and text message in the following situations:

1) A request for additional information has been sent to you.

2) You have been sent a decision to read.

3) The additional information you submitted has been received.

4) Your reply to a request for additional information has been received.

5) A status message is sent to you every three weeks (residence permit applications) or every three months (citizenship applications) until a decision has been made on the application.

Automatic messages cannot be turned off.

I would recommend sending an email to Migri if you travel outside Finland, and especially if you leave the EU. I did that over the winter holidays as I travelled to a country that was not a member of the EU. My application went into processing 2 days before I arrived back in Finland, then remained at stage 2 over the weekend. I received a decision in the early hours of the next working day. I was also informed that my residence permit was cancelled at the same time. I'm fairly certain it would have made re-entering the EU difficult if my application was processed while I was away.

Did you contact them again when you returned?

Not directly. I had included the dates of my travel in the email I sent, and once I returned I updated my travel history (which their response email asked me to do via Enter Finland).

Yes I already know about automatic messages and when they are sent? The whole point of this discussion is that the message some of us have received doesn’t match this pattern (every three months) and seems to come days before people receive decisions. So I don’t what your reply contributes to that.

@Merryberry you right every application is case to case basis i think some people are missing the point those automatted messages are sign of progress either your application is being looked into or The process is moving in the right direction.Even in The website its written that every case is different and even The queue number The processing and decision dosent go along with sequence.Lets encourage each other and learn a few especially those who are still waiting for decision.

Got my decision on 2.03.2022 at 17:59 in evening.
Application submission and identity proved : 22.02.2021
Processing has started on 01.12.2021 after my speed up request has accepted by Head of citizenship branch.
I was away for 1 month and came back to Finland. Country was on list. Overall it took me around 10 months in total even my case was based on entrepreneurship.

Good luck to everyone and i was not called for SUPO interview which i was expecting.

Have Been on queue long enough at stage one without anything positive recently i received bellow automatted notification, does it mean that My queue number is nearing processing stage i maybe Be wrong but am not bothered anymore just out of curiosity .

I have gotten the same email today. Confirmed identity in the beginning of August.

I have gotten this also two times in the past 2 weeks or so. Applied and identified in late October 2021. Current Q number is 5800

Well, It was a long and time taking process by providing them screenshots of processing time checker which i took when I submitted my application. By that time 6-13 months was the time which has been crossed talk alot. Eventually department head has approved my request abd processing started.

Thanks for your reply. Did migri ask you to give them a reason for requesting to speed up the processing or demonstrating to migri that estimated processing time given during your application submission has passed was sufficient?

You don’t need to send anything Migri receive those information from Kela if you own them.
If you have payment plan anyway you can it to Migri accepts those.

My theory is that our application passed the information verification phrase ( such as SUPO) and now is really waiting to be processed by Migri.That is why some of us received the message and some not yet.
